A local farming family will welcome guests by sharing with them various experiences of their daily life on their farm in Karak.  

Visitors will be introduced to a familiar farm staple “straw”, and its importance as a remainder of the barley & wheat harvest and how it is used into making straw plates, a traditional kitchen item, 

Sitting together on the porch of the family home, guests will make their own straw plates.

Next, the art of roasting and boiling healthy barley “coffee” will be taught, smelled and tasted while listening to the stories and health benefits behind this old and forgotten beverage that is being brought back to life. Because coffee was an expensive commodity that only rich people could afford, farmers would roast barley grains instead. 

Guests will end their time on the family farm by venturing into the organic fruit and vegetable patches with handmade baskets to pick and taste the freshest produce
