Jameed making , Mansaf preparing and eating experience

Experience #1: Mrs. Hana will welcome the group into her home and share information about her family and the story of making Jameed, the dried yogurt which is at the heart of Mansaf.  Guests will learn about the way farmers preserve the abundancy of seasonal goat’s milk to use during Winter when there is no milk.  Your host will guide the guests through the Jameed making process (how to dry the goats’ milk) along with other by-products including butter, butter milk & stirred yogurt.
This activity is followed by joining together as a group to feast in the traditional Mansaf tasting the Jameed that serves as the star of the dish. Mansaf is traditionally eaten with the first three fingers of your hand from a communal tray and can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors depending on

Experience #2:  Mansaf, the traditional dish of Jordan is not to be missed and being able to cook it (and eat it!) is a special experience during a visit to Jordan.  Mansaf is made with locally sourced goat milk and lamb meat layered on rice sprinkled with toasted pine nuts and eaten with your hands if you choose from a communal tray.
Your hosts will welcome you to their home and begin the Mansaf cooking process by engaging guests in breaking the large balls of Jameed (dry yogurt) into smaller pieces, soaking them in water while the lamb meat boils on the stove. Special stories about the history of Mansaf as the traditional dish in Karak and Jordan will be shared like its beginnings or the special occasions when served. Guests will then sit together to enjoy eating the freshly prepared dish enjoying their efforts.
