Mountaineering in Wadi Rum
An introductory level experience to teach clients how to climb Wadi Rum’s mountains and how to use the climbing gear
The majestic mountains of Wadi Rum have long enticed the local Bedouin to climb and explore their sandstone heights. The Bedouin have their routes up the moun-tains, which have been explored and added to by climbers from around the world. This magnificent desert offers a stunning selection of climbs of varying levels. Take this wonderful opportunity to explore one of these routes, in Barrah Canyon, and take in the breath-taking desert views along the way.
This climb is offered at introductory and more experienced levels. Your climbing guides will provide the necessary gear and teach you to scale a section of Abu Ju-daidah Mountain. On the way up, there are ancient Nabataean structures, including steps carved into the rock which lead to a spring near the top of the mountain.
