Athens – Greece, September 25, 2025

The Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) successfully concluded its promotional tour in the Greek capital, Athens, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance Jordan’s position on the global tourism map. The event attracted significant attention, with nearly 40 Greek tourism companies participating, reflecting the growing interest in Jordan as a distinguished tourist destination—especially with Royal Jordanian Airlines operating regular direct flights between Amman and Athens.

The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Zuhair Al-Nsour, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Greece, who affirmed the embassy’s support for such initiatives that open new horizons for tourism cooperation between the two countries.

In this context, Ms. Lama Ismail Al-Mahadeen, Executive Director of the Association, expressed her pride in the success of the event, stating:

“The promotional tour in Athens marked a qualitative leap in our efforts to strengthen Jordan’s tourism presence, as we witnessed significant interest from Greek companies, confirming the Kingdom’s growing status as a preferred tourist destination. This meeting reflects the historical and distinguished relations between our two countries and emphasizes our shared unique historical and cultural roots. It also represents an opportunity to build on these deep-rooted relations, strengthen partnerships, and offer visitors exceptional tourism experiences.” She added, “We look forward to welcoming more Greek visitors in the coming period and enhancing existing partnerships in ways that serve the interests of the tourism sector in both countries.”

The tour provided a comprehensive platform to showcase the diversity of Jordan’s tourism products, including its rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural landscapes, and authentic Jordanian hospitality. It also highlighted the importance of religious tourism in Jordan, with globally unique sites such as the Baptism Site (Al-Maghtas) on the Jordan River, Mount Nebo, and Christian and Islamic pilgrimage sites, giving Jordan a special status as a spiritual and cultural tourist destination.

The program included direct business-to-business (B2B) meetings and interactive presentations, helping build new bridges for collaboration and offering association members from tourism companies and hotels a valuable opportunity to connect with key players in the Greek tourism market.

The Executive Director concluded her speech by thanking His Excellency the Ambassador for his support and presence at the event, and expressing her deep appreciation to Royal Jordanian Airlines for its significant support to the association and its members participating in the tour.
