On Wednesday, the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) hosted a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and JITOA. This agreement aims to organize local and international exploratory trips to visit tourism sites developed by JICA within the Petra Development Region.

The signing ceremony, held on Wednesday, 23 September 2023, was attended by representatives from JICA and the JITOA Board of Directors, marking an important step toward enhancing tourism cooperation between Japan and Jordan.

The agreement reflects both parties’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting cultural exchange between the two countries. Through these exploratory trips, international and local visitors will have the opportunity to discover the unique sites and rich heritage of the Petra Development Region.

A JICA representative stated:

“We are grateful for this cooperation with the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association, and we look forward to fostering cultural understanding between our peoples and showcasing the beauty and culture of the Petra Development Region.”

Mr. Awni Kawar, Vice Chairman of JITOA, added:
